Recently I read two articles on a book about Peak Oil that seems most interesting. Why Your World Is About To Get A Whole Lot Smaller by Jeff Rubin explores the consequences of the end of cheap oil and how it will affect us.
The author – a former chief economist for CIBC World Markets – noted in an article that ” Expensive oil means a severe curb on the free-spending lifestyle that cheap energy has afforded us for some time now.”
For more on what seems to be a great book, please check out the reviews on The Oil Drum and TreeHugger. In the full article, a great video of an interesting presentation by the author.
Jeff Rubin explains how oil prices played a major role in the the current economic downturn.
TreeHugger published last year another interesting article : Jeff Rubin Predicts “Mass Exodus” From Cars in US.
