As the official TED talks website notes on this absolute must-see and must-share video : ” Top climate scientist James Hansen tells the story of his involvement in the science of and debate over global climate change.
“In doing so he outlines the overwhelming evidence that change is happening and why that makes him deeply worried about the future. “ The future being the one he will leave to his grand-children.
Yes, Mr. Hansen is worried for the future he will leave his grand-children. And we should be. For us, our children and grand-children. Climate change – if not tackled quick and fast – will get out of control and severely harm our civilization and ourselves… We have already seen the introduction of a book we don’t want to read.
Here is the video. It lasts less than 18 minutes and it is really well worth your time.
the information is here, the facts are there..and yet, the selfishness, the carelessness goes on…i believe that poverty will improve the situation..recycling will reduce resources depletion..that leaves it up to governments to finance technology, to use alternative locally adapted measures to provide energy-transportation-food production. oof..is the world too big to fail?
Don’t worry Nadine as peak oil and tensions in the Middle East make oil more expensive, we will consume less of it.
Concerning natural gas and coal, this is another story altogether.
Regarding governments, it seems it’s time for you to get involved as you are electing your President this year (we too…)
