We have seen it this year quite a few times : the arctic has been melting this year at an unprecedented rate to a never seen before low level. Indeed, the new low level is 18 percent below the previous record, which dated from 2007.
This has led a scientist from Cambridge to believe that the arctic could be ice free during the summer in four little years. Given the potential implications for global climate and weather in North America and Europe, isn’t it high time to decrease emissions globally ?
Indeed, as there is less and less ice in the Arctic, the more and more weather patterns will change and events will get more extreme : colder winters, hotter summers, more extreme weather events and so on…
